Changing Overhead and Wages

Update these settings when your business costs or time value changes.

Monthly overhead: Enter the updated total. The new number applies to future calculations. Past calculations are not retroactively changed.

Pieces per month: Adjust this if your output has changed significantly. It affects the overhead-per-piece contribution in time plus materials. If you are selling more than you used to, update it. Your overhead per piece goes down accordingly.

Hourly rate: Art Price Lab suggests a rate based on your location. You can override this in Settings if the suggestion is too low or too high for your market. You can also override it per-calculation in the calculator without changing your default... useful if you want to test a different rate without committing to it.
